A quick summary:

  • The prices of first-party BitLaunch servers will increase by a flat 20%, starting August 1.
  • This is BitLaunch's second-ever pricing increase.
  • These changes will only apply to new or resized servers, not currently active or paused ones. Existing servers will have their pricing locked until they are destroyed or resized.
  • BitLaunch VPN pricing will not change.

At BitLaunch, our goal has always been to offer great value VPS servers that almost anybody can rent (including those without a bank account). We hate increasing prices — that's why we've only done it once in our nine-year history. Regrettably, three years on, market conditions have forced us into another change.

Since our last price raise, BitLaunch has launched four new locations, introduced BitLaunch VPN, and implemented nested virtualization. Unfortunately, like almost everyone in the tech space, we've also had to navigate major global supply issues.

Why are we increasing prices?

As many of you will be aware, hardware costs have ballooned recently. The memory shortage has more or less tripled consumer RAM prices since 2025, with SSD prices similarly affected due to their use of NAND. Commercial components have also been affected, raising the cost of getting new BitLaunch regions such as Singapore and AMS3 online.

You're probably less cognizant of the rise in colocation pricing. For the uninitiated, colocation is priced on two metrics: space and power. Since our last increase in 2023, electricity costs have continued to balloon, and datacenter space is at an all-time premium due to the demands of high-density AI infrastructure. Add to this localized power grid limits and construction delays, and the situation becomes even worse.

On our end, these conditions have increased server costs by more than 100%, which isn't sustainable in the long-term. Therefore, from August 1st, all new BitLaunch servers will get a flat 20% price raise.

Who does it impact?

Existing servers will have their price locked until they're destroyed or resized, and BitLaunch VPN pricing will remain the same.

While we understand this is a significant change, it's the minimum increase we can justify given the current market. With some of our peers raising prices by 50-200%, BitLaunch remains a competitive and cost-effective way to provision and de-provision multiple servers without being tied into monthly payment contracts or giving up PII.

How to prepare

We encourage customers to perform planned server launches or resizes before August 1st to maintain current pricing. Please be aware that resizing a server can take up to an hour.

This change will affect how quickly your balance depletes, so we recommend setting up alerts and keeping an eye on your balance via the "View Usage" link. Individual server costs can also be assessed by selecting the server and opening the "Usage" tab.

As always, our support team will be available to answer any questions or concerns you have surrounding these changes. You can reach us via live chat around the clock.
